I get an error message when trying to reach a store through iGive. I can, however, reach the store by going directly to it. What's wrong?

If you are trying to reach a store through iGive.com and receive an error message (such as "Server is not responding" or "Page not found"), but you ARE able to reach the store directly, the problem may be due to a pop-up blocker or other software which is installed on your computer. If you have this problem, our small "Coupon Window" pop-up box may appear in the lower-right side of your screen, but the store itself will not load in the main page.

Pop-up blockers, adware, anti-adware, and certain other programs can interfere with shopping at iGive.com. Please try adding iGive.com to your pop-up blocker's "safe" list. Sometimes, turning off or uninstalling the software will not undo the damage. Some of these programs purposefully alter your computer's HOSTS file so that iGive can't work. In that case, you may need to rename your HOSTS file to something else, or delete it altogether. If renaming the file causes additional problems, you can change it back to the original name. Seek help from a qualified professional if you are uncomfortable renaming or deleting files on your computer.

Finding the HOSTS file:
On Windows XP: c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts
On Windows 2000:  c:\winnt\system32\drivers\etc\hosts
On Windows 98 & earlier: c:\windows\hosts or c:\windows\system32\hosts)

If none of the above apply, or you still need help, please contact us.
